The West Texas A&M University Police Department is warning students and residents of a scam.
The caller claims they are members of the WT PD and that they have a warrant issued for the resident’s arrest, and if the resident does not give them their full name, address, date of birth along with banking information they will be arrested.
The Department will never ask for any kind of payment over the phone.
The call comes from the number 651-2300, which is the department’s number.
If you receive a call like this, simply hang up.
