TxDOT, Amarillo MPO Hoping to Cut Down on Traffic-Related Deaths

The Texas Department of Transportation is teaming up with local groups across the state to try and make our roads safer.

The agency announced they will be partnering with 23 Metropolitan Planning Organizations, including the one located in Amarillo, to create a task force focused on developing solutions to help reduce serious and fatal crashes.

The partners are working towards a goal set by the Texas Transportation Commission that hopes to reduce the number of deaths on Texas roadways by 50 percent by 2035, and 100 percent by 2050.
