Loop 335 Construction Updates

There are some new updates by the Texas Department of Transportation on the loop 335 construction project.

The State loop will encircle Amarillo and relieve traffic congestion on I-40. Two sections are now complete and open to traffic.

I-27 at the State Loop 335 interchange right there, which is 100% complete and open to traffic. From State Loop 335 to FM 2590 to I-40 right there, it’s a pretty big stretch, that is 100% completed and open to traffic.

The I-40 West interchange to SW 9th Avenue is expected to be complete in the spring and Coulter Street to Soncy is expected to be complete by the summer. SW 9th Avenue to Western Street is expected to be open in late 2026.
