Habitat For Humanity Applications Being Accepted

Habitat for Humanity is opening up chances for homeowner applications for the first time since 2020.

The nonprofit will have classes for individuals interested in applying for the Homeowner Program.

Individuals and families who eventually live in a habitat home will pay nothing in mortgage fees but will have to attend literacy courses, volunteer, and save for a down payment.

Demand for the program is bigger than ever because of soaring interest rates and building costs. Habitat for Humanity says there is a definite need for this service in Amarillo.

Habitat officials say there is a waitlist of over 300 people and families and everyone on the list has the same opportunity to apply and qualify for the program.

The nonprofit has served 118 families in Amarillo and plans on increasing that number while minimizing the waitlist.

Your completed application should be submitted to Habitat for Humanity located at 2700 South Wilson no later than 3pm October 11th.
