Downtown Amarillo Home to New Mural

Downtown Amarillo will soon be the home of a new mural.

This will be the first of the of the spring season in cooperation with the City Mural Grant Program and the Pergola Shop at 701 Southeast 10 Avenue.

The size of the mural is 62 feet by 20 feet and directly behind the Civic Center and Hodgetown and faces Johnson Street.

The mural exhibits many aspects in the Texas Panhandle including a 50 foot pheasant in many colors, with the north background pattern showing an Art Deco design in architecture founf throughout downtown Amarillo.

The southern background pattern outlines the yellow rose signifying Texas and the City of Amarillo.
