Curry County Police Chase
The County Sheriff’s office says a man and a woman from Clovis were arrested on multiple charges during a burglary and police chase in Clovis.
At 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office were called about a burglary at 1709 Prado.
Deputies were speaking to the homeowner when they noticed two vehicles driving from the property.
That’s when the chase of a Monte Carlo began. That car was driven by 39-year-old Arthur Martinez who crashed after running a traffic light at Norris and Mabry Drive with Martinez getting away on foot. He was quickly caught and put into custody.
At that same time, 19-year-old Jojo Padilla was driving away in the other vehicle described as a white Lincoln. Padilla attempted to drive over a deputy and was placed into custody.
Martinez is now facing charges of possession of meth, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, resisting, evading, obstructing an officer, and a probation violation.
Padilla is facing charges of aggravated assault upon a peace officer, and aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer.
They are both residing in the Curry County Jail without bond.
