Collegiate Ranch Horse Competition at Tri-State Fairgrounds

The National Intercollegiate Ranch and Stock Horse Association National Championship will take place on Tuesday, the 18th, and Wednesday, the 19th at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

College students from sixteen colleges and universities will come together and compete in various competitions from Cow Work, Reining, Ranch Trail, and Ranch Riding in a two-go-round format.

Scoring will be set on an individual and team basis, with the best from both Division I and II schools winning a Hughes Horse Trailer, champion buckles for the individual winners, and a custom-made Oliver Bros. Saddle, given in memory of Dr. Kris Wilson, who pioneered collegiate ranch horse competition.

The event will be open to the public, with an awards dinner ceremony taking place Wednesday night at the Canyon WT campus.
