City of Amarillo Approves Incentive Grant For Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc

The Amarillo City Council approved a business expansion incentive grant to support the growth of Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc.

The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation approved its part of the expansion grant that will provide an incentive for up to 10 years expanding its ability to include transmission operations.

“We’re excited to partner with Golden Spread on this expansion,” said Kevin Carter, President & CEO of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation. “It’s important for us to expand businesses and add more quality jobs to our community. This agreement sets up those jobs for years to come.”

Golden Spread is headquartered in Amarillo and delivers competitive energy solutions to its Members through wind and solar resources and state-of-the-art power plants in Texas near Abernathy and Denver City.
