Child Porn Indictment

A man was indicted on child porn charges after losing his phone in a pawn shop parking lot.

A Potter County grand jury indicted Colton Miles Reed, 27, for possession of child pornography.

Reed was arrested in March 2023 for domestic violence.

According to court documents,, the victim told Amarillo police that Reed had child porn on his cell phone. Two phones were seized after police obtained search warrants.  

Reed gave up the password to one of the phones but did not give the password for the second.

In September, police were contacted by someone who said they found a phone in a pawn shop parking lot and the caller said they believed child porn was on it.

Police found 229 child porn videos on that phone and subsequently ended the account the next day.

The phone had been traced back to Reed.
