CAnyon Lock Down – WT

It’s “all clear” after the Canyon Police Department responded to an active situation at a house near campus.

The University Police Department and  Canyon Police responded to possible shots fired at a house in the area of 28th Street, south of Founder’s Hall, Thursday night.

 Police report the Randall County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call that at least one person was injured.

They later reported the house was breached and no threat was found. No weapons were found and nobody was injured. 

Students were being asked to shelter in place and stay indoors unless it was necessary to leave the building.

The lockdown was lifted at 9:15 p.m. and investigators think it was a false call or a wrong address. No other shots fired in Canyon had been reported.
