Burglary Stopped Thanks to Concerned Citizen

Thanks to a witness calling in suspicious activity, the Amarillo Police Department was able to catch an auto burglar before he could escape

Police were called out to a parking lot in the 4500 block of Maverick Street thanks so a witness observing a man inside a vehicle that he knew wasn’t his. 

Officers Observed the suspect wearing gloves and searching the vehicle.

When he was later searched, he was found in possession of stolen belongings that have been returned to the owner. 

He was also found with drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was arrested and charged with burglary of a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia and is booked in Randal County Jail.
