BSA Neo-Natal Helicopter

There’s a new addition to the BSA Neonatal Unit Transport Team.

A new Apollo MedFlight Bell 407 helicopter.has been added to medical transport for babies born prematurely across the region who require specialized care.  This brings the total number of aircraft for NICU to two.

Both helicopters are equipped like an ICU/CCU with advanced medical technology like in a hospital, and the specialized Bell 407 rotor-wing aircraft, allows the NICU team more flexibility in critical situations, like hospital-to-hospital transport.

During transport on this helicopter, the NICU team includes a NICU provider, NICU nurse, NICU respiratory therapist, and an Apollo MedFlight crew member to care for the baby. They will have access to state-of-the-art equipment such as ventilators, monitors, IV pumps, and isolettes.
