Borger Mayor Pro Tem Dies

The City of Borger announces the death of Mayor Pro Tem, Milton Ooley.

Born in Pampa in June 1955, Ooley was described by Borger officials as “a devoted family man and a pillar of strength to his loved ones.”

According to city officials, Ooley’s contributions to Borger included supporting investments into the community, as well as championing projects like the renovations to the Dome Civic and Convention Center.

Through his leadership, he led the fight to reduce the city’s tax rate of more than 25 %.

This is the second Hutchinson County official to die this month. Fritch Fire Chief Zeb Smith died on March 5th while responding to a house fire.
