APD Looking Into North Hayes Street Shooting

The Amarillo Police Department is looking for more details involving a shooting in Amarillo.

Just after 1:35 pm Wednesday, officers were called to the 900 block of North Hayes Street on a shooting and heard from witnesses telling officers that a blue SUV was chasing a grey or silver 4 door car northbound on Hayes.

The driver of the blue SUV was firing at the car and both vehicles left the scene before officers arrived.

The grey car was later located by officers at Amarillo Boulevard and Tascosa Road and found a passenger in the vehicle had been grazed by a bullet.

The vehicle had dropped a second male off at a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male and his vehicle is described as an early 2000 model Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe.
