APD Investigating Sunday Shooting

Amarillo Police are investigating a shooting from over the weekend.

At 2:07 Sunday morning, police were called to the South Polk Street area about shots being fired. They checked out the area and saw several groups of people leaving the closing bars and people leaving the streets, but did not find any fighting but received a second call about a fight on Buchanan Street.

Officers checked out that area but still did”not find any evidence of fighting, and everyone had left the parking lot.

APD reports that at 2:15 a.m., they received a call from a hospital saying that two men had arrived with gunshot wounds and were in the emergency room.

One of the men had a life-threatening injury while the other only suffered a minor injury.

Further investigation turned up that the actual crime scene was at 100 Southeast 7th Avenue

Witnesses were interviewed and evidence was collected.
