During Tuesday’s Amarillo Council meeting, an interlocal agreement was made between the City and Denton County Transportation Authority for the purchase of new transit buses.

This agreement will help speed up the purchasing process to buy 8 new buses by 6 months.

Transit Director Marita Wellage-Reiley about the buses.

These new buses will also have wheelchair ramps to help those get on board faster and easier.

Funding for the project is provided through Federal and State grant programs and previously approved local capital funding.
