Amarillo Smart To Start Program

Amarillo College has broken a record by having 907 full-time students make the Dean’s List.

The fall semester’s number overtook the Fall 2022 record-breaking number of 812 full-time students achieving that honor.

The 907 full-time students achieved a 3.6 grade point average or higher in Fall 2023.

College officials are crediting the school’s Quality Enhancement Plan, Smart Start To Finish for the increase.

Smart Start to Finish is a college-wide retention initiative that focuses on student engagement, and being connects students with success coaches and tutors.

Every student at AC is assigned a success coach who then follows the student’s achievements, and there if the student needs them.

The school wants to add additional success coaches in every academic community.
