Xcel Smart Meter Installations

Xcel says it installed 18-thousand new smart meters last month in various neighborhoods in Amarillo and Canyon.

Those who have already received a smart meter can now check their usage on Xcel’s website.

Xcel urges its customers to reach out for accurate information about the meters if they have questions. The company will continue to install the new meters.

Xcel’s Wes Reeves says as the company moves forward, it will continue to enhance features on the website as well as on its app, allowing customers to do more.

For those who refuse to have the smart meter installed, Reeves says that will reflect as a $16 charge every month to have someone read the meter in person.
