One Dead After Hit and Run

Amarillo Police are investigating an early morning hit-and-run that took the life of one man. 

At 2:55 a.m., Saturday, officers were called to the scene of a person laying on the roadway in the 500 block of North Pierce Street.

They found a 27-year-old man who was hit by an unknown vehicle.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Potter County Justice of the Peace Precinct #3 Gary Jackson was notified and ordered an autopsy.

The incident is being handled by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
