New Demolition Contract Approved for City Hall

During the most recent City Council meeting, a relocation and renovation contract was approved to tear down the surrounding warehouses along South Grant street to build a new City Hall.

While there were bits of confusion on the matter regarding the funding and having it be made through a certificate of obligation, the item was pulled and resulted in a 4-1 vote in favor of the plan, with clarification from Mayor Ginger Nelson on there being no certificates being voted on from council for the demolition.

While plans are in place, there is said to be no confirmed date regarding the start of demolition.
