Happy Elevator Burglary

The Swisher County Sheriff’s Office says a robbery took place on Saturday at the Farmers Elevator in Happy.

Saturday at 1:00 a.m., deputies found two people parked outside the elevator and released a drone to get the subjects’ exact location.

The elevator had been burglarized repeatedly with the target being copper wire.

Thanks to drone technology, deputies were able to spot a female subject and detain her as the other person, a male, climbed to the top of the elevator, trying to hide from deputies.

Deputies searched the area and found numerous tools used to conceal oneself and theft of copper wire. The man was found later on top of the elevator.

Both people were taken to Swisher County Jail and booked.
