Friday Sports Update – Astros Take Down Rangers

Astros Double Up Rangers

(Houston, TX) — George Springer went 3-for-5 with a home run to lead the Astros to a 4-2 win over the Rangers in Houston. Josh Reddick singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning to break a 2-all tie. He also robbed a home run at the fence. Wade Miley picked up his third win of the year, giving up two runs and striking out seven in six innings. Houston has won five-of-six and is 13-and-4 at home. Hunter Pence hit his third home run in as many days, a two-run shot in the fourth to put Texas ahead 2-1. Mike Minor fell to 3-and-3 after giving up three runs in five innings. The Astros and Rangers resume the series tonight, our pre-game begins at 6:30 on 710AM and 97.5FM KGNC.

HOOKS EDGE PAST SOD POODLES IN TENTH

Corpus Christi, TX – The Sod Poodles fell in extra innings 6-5 on Thursday night to the Corpus Christi Hooks at Whataburger Field. Hooks third baseman Abraham Toro delivered a walk-off two-RBI single to propel Corpus Christi to victory in the bottom of the tenth inning.The Sod Poodles and Hooks continue their four-game series on Friday night. Sixers, Blazers Both Force Game Sevens

The Sixers beat the Raptors 112-101 in Game Six of their East semifinal in Philadelphia, and the Trail Blazers topped the Nuggets 119-108 in Game Six of their West semifinal in Portland. Toronto and Denver each host a deciding Game Seven on Sunday.

Bruins Blow By Hurricanes With Four-Goal Third

(Boston, MA) — The Bruins scored four times in the third period to pull out a 5-2 win over the Hurricanes in Game One of the Eastern Conference finals in Boston. Marcus Johansson and Patrice Bergeron scored power-play goals 28 seconds apart early in the third to erase a 2-1 deficit. The Bruins also host Game Two on Sunday.

Byron Nelson Championship Continues Today

(Dallas, TX) — The second round of the Byron Nelson Championship gets underway today in Dallas. Denny McCarthy leads after the first round shooting eight-under par. Tyler Duncan and Tim Hoge are tied for second at seven-under par. Ryan Palmer Shot 3-under and is five shots off the lead, tied for 36th.
