Eight Arrested in Tulia Drug Bust

Eight people were arrested in Tulia on drug trafficking charges in what authorities are calling Operation Tulia Takedown.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Dallas Field Office with the assistance of the Amarillo Police Department, the Tulia Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Randall County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents and officers discovered five guns with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, 1.4 pounds of methamphetamines, 2.6 pounds of weed and 93 Xanax pills.

The group was charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamines along with possession with the intent to distribute.

Two people that were already in custody, identified as Manuel Socorro Urenda and Jamie Catina Haddock, have also been charged in connection with the bust.

If convicted Urenda and Haddock face up to life in prison, while the other eight face up to 20 years.
