DPS Finds $2 million Worth of Drugs in Bust

The Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation after they discovered $2 million worth of methamphetamines at the Amarillo bus station.

On May 24th at 3:20pm a DPS trooper and his canine were screening baggage from a bus that had just arrived when the dog was alerted.

The animal identified a piece of luggage in the compartment that was found to be carrying six large plastic-wrapped bundles of methamphetamines, weighing approximately 48 pounds.

The bus originally departed from Los Angeles but made several stops before arriving in Amarillo.

A suspect has not yet been identified.
