Clovis Fatal Car Crash

Clovis Police are looking into a Christmas day car crash that left one person dead.

Police were called to the wreck scene at 2:20 p.m. at 21st and Mitchell involving two vehicles. 

Police say 83-year-old Billie Brazell was driving on 21st Street and was turning South on Mitchell, when a Dodge Charger travelling east on 21st smashed into Brazell’s Toyota.

The 24-year-old had to be removed from the Charger, and started with life-saving procedures, while Brazell died at the scene.  Witnesses say the Charger had been racing a truck just before the crash.

The truck left the scene and has not been found.
