Cannon Air Base all Clear

Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis has been given the all-clear after an active shooter threat on Tuesday.

The base’s team continued to update additional security patrols last night to ensure mission areas and housing safety and security protocols were being followed.

Base officials are asking anyone who sees something out of place or unusual to report it to BDOC at 573-784-0090.

The security lockdown was precipitated when Air Force Security received reports of a person hearing gunfire, and that’s when the base was put under active shooter protocol.

Security then did a door-to-door security search and all school-aged children in the child development and youth center were accounted for.
