Richard Wright (1908-1960) used his writing skills to inform the world about the living conditions African-Americans went through in American cities..

His most famous work Native Son sold more than 250-thousand copies within three weeks of it’s release in 1940.

In this landmark work, Wright explored the deep racial prominence throughout America, as well as the poverty and alienation African-American residents of Chicago’s South Side. felt.

Many esteemed scholars, both black and white consider Wright to be one of the 20th century’s greatest writers.
