Auto-Semi Crash On U.S. 287

An auto-semi truck crash near Claude claimed the life of a man early Sunday morning.

At 1;40 a.m., March 20th, Department of Public Safety Officers says a 2020 Freightliner was getting off from a rest area on U.S. 287, eastbound, driven by 30-year-old Tyler Ebbitt of Hughes Springs, Texas when he failed to yield the right of way to a 2020 Chrysler driven by 41-year-old Coy Crowder of Nashville, Tennessee.

The car is said to have struck the semi, overturned, and entered the median, and the driver was thrown from the car.

Crowder was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the semi was not injured

The wreck remains under investigation
