An up and down stock market had many worried as we ended 2018.

We spoke with William Ware President of Amarillo National Bank about the area’s economy for December.

 

December continued a trend that has been an issue all year for area agriculture.

Ware tells us more

 

A rough year for Ag in the area due to drought conditions but December showed wheat prices are up 30% and corn up 7%.

Another bright spot in last month’s economy is that unemployment was down 2.5% and wages were up 4% from a year ago.
