Amarillo College’s June Jazz Taking Over The Air Waves This Summer

The 25th season of June Jazz will be taking a bit of a hiatus this year.

Instead Amarillo College FM90 will air archived Best Of performances from AC Jazz Band, Patrick Swindell & Esquire Jazz, Polk Street Jazz and others.

“I’m so pleased that we can continue the tradition and bring the community great jazz music and keep them safe at the same time.” said Dr. Jim Laughlin, professor of music and originator of June Jazz. “Through student work in helping set up audio and recording equipment in past years, we have these archives available for all to enjoy.”

The hour long broadcast will be every Tuesday from 7-8 pm on 89.9 fm or kacvfm.org.

The College hopes to be June Jazz back to its live-performance format in 2021
