Amarillo City Budget- Spending Items

The Amarillo City Council got an overview of changes to the proposed budget at their Tuesday meeting.

Assistant City Manager Laura Storrs told the Council about adding police officers firefighters and spending on street repairs could possibly alter the city’s spending.

Drainage spending will go up because of water damage from the spring rains, and to make preparations for future damage.

Water rates will stay the same for low-end users, but allowing for more dumpster replacement will force the solid waste fees to go up.

A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled for September 19th.
