McDonald Lake in Amarillo recently underwent a much needed repair project.

The lake, which is a drainage area for stormwater near John Stiff Memorial Park, needed to be drained in order to place an intake pump into its center.

The repairs also included the cutting of old pipes as well as the installation of various extensions to better help manage the water cutoff level for pumping.

City of Amarillo Director of Public Works Donny Hopper says as soon as the area sees significant rainfall residents can once again enjoy McDonald Lake.
