Xcel Plans Upgrades

Xcel Energy says it will continue with building new substations and expanding others in Amarillo and Canyon to include the Lawrence Park Substation,behind Market Street near Southeast 26 Avenue and Georgia,

Another new project is planned for the Preston West substation and distribution lines southeast of the intersection of Coulter Street and Loop 335.

Xcel officials say the two additional projects will be completed by the end of the year with plans for two additional ones.
in Dumas and Dalhart scheduled to be complete by 2023.

The company will continue to replace aging power poles and wires across the Texas Panhandle.

Also in the expansion plans additional upgrades to facilities in 2023 and 2024 across the region
