West Texas A&M Gets Large Donation

Merck Animal Health has donated a half-million dollars to West Texas A and M’s Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences.

The money will be used for feedlot renovation and expansion projects. The Director of beef technical service for Merck says the donation will help in advancing animal health through education and research that’s grounded in support of the cattle feeding industry.

University officials say the school’s feedlot is a smaller version of the larger commercial ones in the Panhandle, and gives students the chance to get real-life, real-time experience with modern feeding systems and technology.
