The City of Amarillo will soon be going into Phase 2 of its water meter upgrades.

The upgrades are in Districts 24 and 6.

Fifteen hundred meters have been installed in Phase One of the project.

Phase 2 begins on Monday, Nov. 13, with the plan to upgrade 75,000 meters.

And, is expected to go until the end of 2025 which will complete the project, and once your meter is upgraded, there will be more water use data available.

With the new meters, customers will be able to set water thresholds to monitor water usage.

Customers will be getting mail before the installation of the new meters in their areas, with the installation taking place between 8:00 am to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
