Train Derailment Causing Traffic Woes

The Amarillo Police Department is asking citizens to avoid Amarillo boulevard from Grand to Manhattan in both directions due to a train derailment.

Monday at 10:50 am, officers were sent to the 3300 block of Amarillo Boulevard East on a train derailment.

The train was blocking both lanes of traffic on Amarillo boulevard and it was discovered that power lines were also taken down by the train. 

Xcel Energy has been notified and citizens are asked to avoid the boulevard between Grand and Manhattan until this train is cleared.
