Traffic Stop Fentanyl Pills Found

A routine traffic stop netted Stratford police over 200 thousand dollars in fentanyl confiscation.

On Jan. 10., Stratford Police Chief Richard Coburn stopped a pickup on Highway 54 for a “defective third brake light”.

Smelling cocaine, Cogburn searched the vehicle and found two Ziploc baggies containing 1,7 kilos of fentanyl pills.

Shedrick Cooper told police he picked up the fentanyl pills in Arizona and was on his way to Iowa.  The estimated value is 236-thousand dollars.

Cooper is in the Randall County Jail without bond.
