Southeast Park To be Closed

Southeast Park will be closed this Friday for a research project by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Amarillo City officials made that announcement Wednesday morning.
The park will be closed from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday while the department conducts its research project of the cackling goose.
Geese will be fitted with a solar-powered tracking device that will allow researchers to study migratory patterns, habitat environments, and behavior of the geese for up to three years.
A similar research project was carried out in February 2023 in Lubbock and Levelland
