Rick Husband International Airport Upgrades

The Rick Husband International Airport is going to get electrical upgrades.

The upgrades will include the removal and replacement of electrical panels, transformers, and circuits to expand the airport’s emergency power system.

The project will also include the installation of a central UPS system to support critical IT data racks.

An assessment, by the airport determined it can’t reach full operational capability if it were to lose power and then transition to a generator.

At this time, the current generator can hold the additional circuitry.

The proposed project will take about a year to complete and is funded by a 90/10 matching grant. The federal government will pay for 90% and the airport will pay for 10% of the overall costs.
