Resignation Of Board Member On AISD Agenda Special Meeting
The faces on the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees continues to change.
The May 4th election added three new members, followed by Jon Ben Blanchard stepping down and now member Renee McCown’s resignation is on the agenda of a June 6th special meeting.
McCown has been at the center of the controversy surrounding the departure of former Amarillo High School Volleyball Coach Kori Clements.
Dr. Marc Henson and the grassroots group The Parents for Transparency Coalition had addressed the school board about McCown allegedly using her position of power to benefit her two high school daughters in the district’s decision to not renew the contract of Coach Clements.
The meeting will take place Thursday, June 6th at 5:00 pm at the AISD building 7200 I 40 West
