Power Companies fighting Outages

Power Companies around the Texas Panhandle are fighting outages.

Xcel Energy reports about 1,300 customers without power, largely around Borger and Stinnett.

The North Plains Electric Cooperative is saying it has about 1,000 customers in the dark mostly southeast and northwest of Canadian.

Canadian River Municipal Water Authority (CRMWA) which supplies water to Amarillo, Lubbock, and other member cities saw some damage to its facilities, including burned power poles in its Roberts County Wellfield.

Deputy General Manager Chad Pernell said CRMWA also temporarily lost power to a pumping station near Fritch.
