PCSO Grabs Convicted Felon

The Potter County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division arrested a violent fugitive in Potter County on Monday, Jan. 19.

The Sheriff’s Office says, Christopher Nevarez had an outstanding federal warrant for convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Surveillance was carried out at an address believed to be owned by Nevarez and during the surveillance, Nevarez drove by the residence and recognized the surveillance vehicles to be law enforcement.

Navarez managed to drive away to 24th and Grand with another known felon being recognized as wanted.

Officials say deputies deployed a diversionary device and approached the vehicle.

Nevarez and the passenger Blasie Sisneros were successfully taken into custody, with a large amount of meth and drug paraphrenalia also confiscated.

 The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Potter County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
