One Person Has Died From Injuries In Auto Accident

One person has died as the results of their injuries in a traffic accident.

The Amarillo Police Department says that 74-year-old Agnes Handley passed away on Monday from her injuries sustained in last Wednesday’s crash.

Officials said a 17-year-old was traveling at a high rate of speed on Western in a 2016 Land Rover when it crashed into A 2013 Toyota minivan driven by Handley, who was pulling out of Hastings Avenue. The 17-year-old driver also had a 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle during the accident.

Both drivers and a juvenile passenger in the Land Rover were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Speed was determined to be a factor in the crash.

APD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is continuing their investigation into the crash.
