Jury Duty Scam

The Potter County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a jury duty scam.

They claim the suspects called a woman claiming she had warrants related to jury duty and instructed her to send money by way of Bitcoin to pay off the warrants.

The phone call sounded authentic, right down to a prerecorded message claiming to be the Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office does not contact individuals regarding warrants and won’t call to request payments of fees.
If anyone has concerns about these scams, call (806) 379-2900.
