HIGHLAND PARK BOND ISSUES

Two Bond proposals are facing Highland Park voters for their school district.

The first bond worth 129 million dollars, supports a career center, a new elementary school, athletic fields as well as security and new buses

The second bond would support technology devices likr laptops and computers for faculty and students.

Two issues are driving the two propositions rather than one. Law changes require that any mobile device that can be taken away from school property must be put in a separate proposition, and the stadium seating at the athletic fields are small enough not to be considered separately.

The need for these enhancements to the school district was discovered over the past two years. Since the school board has been brainstorming on how to upgrade the school in order to attract students to the area.

If the Athletic bond passes, the Highland Park schools could break ground as early as 2024
