Fire At Old BSA Hospital

Just before midnight Friday, August 13th, Amarillo Firefighters responded to a fire at the abandoned BSA hospital on 200 Northwest 7th Street.

When firefighters arrived they found  fire from a second-floor window..

Firemen knocked out the main body of the blaze quickly but had trouble getting into the interior of the structure because of the size and layout of the building.

All four floors of the building were cleared in that area, and the fire was kept to a single room and smoke damage was found to affect all four floors.

No one was injured. The structure has been a nuisance with squatters living in a major portion of the building.
