Fatal Auto Crash Near Canyon

A man is dead following a Saturday morning auto wreck.

Texas Department of Public Safety says the wreck happened on U.S. 87, five miles south of Canyon.

Police say 26-year-old Brandon Boyd of Canyon was traveling north on U.S. 87 when his vehicle left the roadway.

The Silverado traveled across a creek bed, smashed into an embankment, and rolled. It ended up resting on its top, with heavy front-end damage.

Boyd was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital where he died from his injuries.
