Dalhart E.D.C Seeks To Sell Historic Buildings

The Dalhart Economic Development Corporation is trying to sell off three downtown buildings.

The historic downtown buildings include the fire department, the police station, and emergency medical services.

All of these buildings were built in the 1900’s, and as they age, newer space is needed.

According to the D.E.D.C., they are trying to become a Main Street City and they have to show growth, development and historic preservation.

They estimate paramedics, police, and fire will have a new home.

Downtown Dalhart is busy during the day, but the E.D.C. wants to become a downtown destination as well. They say they have already received many ideas for restaurants, daycare facilities; even apartment complexes are being considered.

Dalhart is also looking for developers to do some local housing or apartments in town.
