Dalhart Church Fire

Dalhart fire officials are investigating a Monday morning fire at a church.

At 8;45 a.m. the Dalhart Fire Department was called out to the New Light Baptist Church at 1st and Elm Streets.

Upon arrival, fire and heavy smoke were billowing from the vacant building.

Dalhart fire officials say the building had been vacant for several years, and no one was inside at the time of the blaze.

The fast-spreading fire also burned grass and a nearby trailer, and the blaze was quickly brought under control.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
