City of Amarillo Confirms Case of Coronavirus

Today the City of Amarillo confirmed two cases of the COVID-19 in the area.

At 5:37 p.m. two patients tested positive for the virus.

The city will now implement its comprehensive response plan that was established by local leaders and the city has issued a Local Disaster Declaration.

Mayor Ginger Nelson states that citizens should practice safe distancing and that we should not gather socially.

She also urges local businesses to stay open but not allow the gathering of people.

Citizens are also urged to practice good hygiene by washing their hands.

It is also recommended to self-isolate if you feel sick.
